Teacher arrested for obtaining goods by false pretence

Ntaja Police Post in Machinga District  has arrested Patrick Daud, 25, a teacher at Wataka Primary School for allegedly obtaining goods by false pretence.

According to Ngwashape Msume, Deputy Station Public Relations Officer for Machinga Police, on October 1st this year, the suspect approached Chitayo  Asiki, a business man who sells goods at Nyenje Trading Centre, and asked him to buy the goods on credit.

The victim was treated the suspect and proceeded to give him blankets, duvets, solar torches and umbrellas, all valued at K314, 500.00.

The suspect was at large and this made the victim to report the matter to Ntaja Police Post.

Police intensified investigations and managed to arrest the suspect at Manje Trading Centre  in Limbe, Blantyre, and made recovery of
eight duvets, five solar torches, one umbrella and two blankets.

He is expected to appear before court soon to answer the offence of obtaining goods by false pretence.

Patrick Daud hails from Lulanga Village,Tradition  Authority Mlomba in Machinga District.
