WHY IS THERE STILL NO WINNER IN US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION?

📌 The winner of the U.S. presidential election is not yet clear as officials in multiple states count ballots, including large numbers of mail-in votes sent in as an alternative to visiting polling places amid the coronavirus pandemic.

📌 Neither President Donald Trump nor Democratic challenger Joe Biden have earned an Electoral College majority from the states where a winner can be determined.

📌 Closely watched will be the results from Pennsylvania, Arizona, and North Carolina, states that helped propel Trump to victory in 2016 and emerged as prime electoral battlegrounds again in 2020.

🗳️ ELECTION UPDATES

📌 Projected wins in Wisconsin and Michigan put former Vice President Joe Biden within reach of victory.

📌 President Donald Trump’s campaign launched a series of legal challenges.

📌 There is still no projected winner called by VOA in six states: Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

📌 Biden could reach the 270 Electoral College vote threshold needed to win the election if he holds onto his leads in Arizona and Nevada.

📌 Trump, however, still has a path to victory if he can take back any one of the states where Biden is leading. The president is leading in other states that have not yet been called: Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and Alaska.
