Embangweni United FC head coach Dan Lusale is backing his charges to return to winning ways as they prepare for a potentially explosive NBS Bank National Division League Week 15 showdown against Mzuzu City Hammers on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at Mzuzu Stadium.

Despite facing injury concerns ahead of the crucial encounter, Lusale remains confident that his side can rise to the occasion and collect maximum points against their northern rivals.

The coach acknowledged that his squad has been hit by two injuries but insists that the setback will not derail their mission to bounce back from their disappointing defeat in their previous outing.

“We are coming from a defeat against Ntaja United FC, but we remain confident. There is nothing else we can do apart from fighting for a win tomorrow,” Lusale said.

Embangweni United will be desperate to respond after suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat against Ntaja United FC, while Mzuzu City Hammers head into the contest following a goalless draw against league leaders Songwe Border United FC.

With both sides eyeing valuable points in the race for promotion, Saturday’s encounter promises to be a fiercely contested battle, with little room for mistakes as the campaign enters a crucial stage.

Embangweni United occupy fifth position on the league table with 23 points from 14 matches, while Mzuzu City Hammers sit third with 25 points from the same number of games.

The two-point gap between the sides adds further spice to the encounter, with a victory for Embangweni United offering them an opportunity to close the gap on their opponents, while the Hammers will be equally determined to strengthen their position among the league’s leading contenders.
