Police officers at Kawale in Lilongwe have been drilled in effective communication using Police devices as a means of enhancing safety.
Director of Radio Communication in the Malawi Police Service, Mr. Alnord Silungwe, Assistant Commissioner of Police, during the session, reminded officers on several issues for the sustainability of advanced digitalized packsets which rolled out in the Malawi Police Service in 2017.
Mr Silungwe (ACP), observed that many officers take packsets casually, ending up being exposed to danger, citing the loss of other police officers whilst on duty.

“Let these packsets be part of your uniform, because it is not only helping the community you serve but it also enhance your own safety once in danger,” said Silungwe.
He therefore urged officers to effectively use the gadgets to communicate and escape danger.
Additionally, Mr Silungwe ACP fine tuned Kawale officers on the best practices of these gadgets.
Furthermore, officers were informed of the safety tips against negative impact of the introduced gadgets( packsets), like radiation that can cause mutation of Genes, thunder attraction specifically during rainy season.
On her part, Station Officer for Kawale Police Senior Supritendent Gladys Chiwaula welcomed the team from Headquarters while Superitendent Mafunasi Nyirongo who is Radio Communications Mistress from Area 30 facilitated on the actual operation of the packset.
