Police in Lumbadzi have arrested two men for allegedly killing Davie Charles, 41 who hailed from Kabwazi village Traditional authority Njolomole in Ntcheu on suspicious that he broke into the chicken kraal where he wanted to still.
It is reported that the owner of the kraal saw the suspect through his house window and started chasing him up until a watch man at Chinkhuti Community Day Secondary School joined the chase.
The two suspects started assaulting Charles (now deceased) as he showed some resistance of being arrested.
When the matter was reported to Lumbadzi Police, medical forms were issued and Charles was taken to Chinkhuti Health Center where he was refered to Kamuzu Central Hospital where he died upon receiving treatment.
Postmortem results indicated that death was due to traumatic brain injury and chest hemothorax.
The two are; Chikumbutso Chipala 41, comes from Chiwaliwali village, traditional authority Kalumo in Ntchisi and Jeremiah Phiri 36, hails from Chiluzi village, traditional authority Mkukula in Dowa.
Police in Lumbadzi therefore condemns the tendency of some community members who resolt into taking laws into their own hands either by assaulting or killing suspected criminals.
Members of the community are further urged that once they have apprehended any suspected criminal they should immediately report to police for them to be prosecuted by a competent court of law.
