The Mangochi District Executive Committee(DEC) gave out a satisfactory remark to the Centre for Social Concern on its extension project that been carried out in TA Bwananyambi and STA Chiunda in Mangochi.
The remark was made on thursday on 25th August,2022 during the District executive meeting held at Mangochi town council boardroom.
speaking to DEC members,the CfSC programs officer responsible for economical governance Mr Benard Mphepo said the extension project which started in February has received tremendous support from communities and he further said the desire of was to see the empowered citizens who can demand answers from duty bearers on issues bordering on public finance is being carried in transparency and accountability manner.
The extension project is tittled inhacing transparency and accountability on public debt to reduce poverty and inequality.
“The goal of this extension project was to empower citizens to demand transparency and accountability on issues of public finance management,after capacity building activities the communities were able to engage the district council, Members of.parliament even councilors,the communities are capacitated and able to follow the projects” explained Mphepo
He further appealed to the authorities to use the borrowed money for intended purposes and he also encouraged to reduce our level of debts by living within our lines of means.
CfSC is a faith based organization working to transform the unjust structures through research and advocacy to ensure sustainable change in policies for the betterment of all in line with their human dignity.
Recently,CfSC had another successful project which ended in December 2021,the project was all about building covid 19 resilience through promotion transparency and accountability in public finance management for reduced poverty and inequality.
