Kawale Police is keeping in custody Wighan Njakwa, 30, for being suspected to have stolen a Toyota Ractis saloon.
Njakwa was arrested on January 13, 2022 within Kawale as he was offering on sale the said motor vehicle.
Police received a tip off that the suspect was offering on sale a car suspiciously and following the investigation detectives arrested him and recovered the motor vehicle which has been identified to have been stolen in Mzuzu.
Further investigations revealed that the car was under the custody of Phillip Mzumala as a taxi, who went missing with the car since December 10,2021.
The matter was reported at Mzuzu Police by the owner.
Wighane Njakwa hails from Kampingosiwande Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kampingosiwande in Mzimba District.
