Kawale Police has taken into its custody a 62-year-old woman over possession of Cannabis Sativa without permit.
The suspect, identified as Livines Mdala, got arrested by Kawale detectives on February 3, 2026 after being tipped that the suspect was keeping the Indian hemp without permit.
Following up the information, police managed to arrest her in the comfort of her home in Kawale 1.
During the search, the station’s detectives found the packages of cannabis sativa in plastic bags weighing 15 kilograms, hidden in her bed room.
Meanwhile, the suspect is in police custody pending court appearance after completion of paperwork.
Livines Mdala hails from Kawale 1 Village Traditional Authority Tsabango in Lilongwe district.
