The Vice-president Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima will tomorrow November 30, join a group known as the Walkers to fundraise money for tour guides training.
The Walkers is a group of young men and women who have walked from Blantyre to Lilongwe on the fundraising mission. The last stretch of their journey which the Veep will join is from Bunda Turn Off to Gateway Mall which is the final destination.
The group comprised of 10 young people have been travelling on foot on the 314 kilometres journey in a bid to raise funds for the training of tour guides who play a huge role in the tourism sector.
The Walkers is targeting to raise K7 million which reports show they have managed to raise.
Yangairo Yangairo who is one of the organisers said they will use the funds to train 100 tour guides with skills in proper conduct, linking interesting cultural, social, historical and economic aspects.
The journey to fundraise the funds started on November 21 and will be completed with the Veep’s blessings on November 30.
