This has been charged by the new Officer-In-Charge, Mr Devlin Mwankiri Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) on the alertness during this period to ensure a crime free celebration.

During this period, Kawale Police has increased manpower to patrol all crime hotspots, both foot and vehicle for the uniformed and civilian clothed officers.

Further to that, Traffic personnel are deployed round-the-clock in all road networks within Kawale that includes part of M1 road from Marshall road junction going Kaphiri. As a testament to this, on 20 December the station booked 45 motorists for breaching traffic regulations.

Meanwhile, police are advising travellers and visitors in the area to adhere to traffic rules since the roads are under total surveillance through traffic checks, ad-hoc road blocks and traffic patrols.

For emergencies, the station is at your disposal through 997 hotline.

As this is not enough, the station conducts joint patrols with Community Policing Forum teams as one way to groom them with ethical security operations while increasing visibility thereby halting crime at its inception.

However, besides all these strategies, police in the area would like to urge residents of their responsibility on social media usage while on vacation, target hardening, avoiding over speeding, never drink and drive, wearing of helmets for Kabaza users.
