PASUWA, CHIRWA FAULT REF AFTER DRAW AS TIGERS BEAT MOYALE

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets missed a chance to open a two point gap on top of TNM Super League table after dropping two more points as Kamuzu Barracks held them to a 0-0 draw at the Civo Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The People’s team were dominant in the first half but could not convert their chances into goals after a stubborn KB defense remain unbreakable and firm and the second half produce a less sparkling performance as the two sides settled for a point apiece.

Head coach for Bullets, Callisto Pasuwa, conceded the result saying their opponents played well but faulted the referee for not awarding them a penalty.

“It was a tough game, I should recommend KB, they played very well. We had chances which we created and we missed them, we didn’t go and attack well so we will go back and correct those problems. We had a penalty but I don’t know why we are not awarded this penalties when we are away.” Said Pasuwa.

Meanwhile, Alick Chirwa, head coach for Kamuzu Barracks said his team were denied a win by the referee as well.

“We had a very good game and we could have won it but the referee was just blowing whistles anyhow.” Said Chirwa.

The People’s team were a better side after creating a lot of scoring opportunities and keeping possession but the Soldiers remained unshakable. Lanjesi Nkhoma got the best chance after heading wide a Patrick Mwaungulu’s ball on 22nd minute before the team’s penalty appeal was turned down by the referee 10 minutes later.

In the second half, both side made changes to bring much power but they could not produce goal. The result takes Bullets top of the summit with 21 points, level on points with Silver Strikers but the People’s team have a better goal difference while Kamuzu Barracks move a step up to 7th with 12 points.

Meanwhile, Richard Rabson netted a goal, two minutes after half time, to secure maximum points for 10 man Blue Eagles as they beat MAFCO 1-0 at the Chitowe stadium. Gilbert Chirwa was sent off for the Cops who now move up to fifth with 15 points from 10 games while MAFCO are 12th with 11 points.

Chitipa United are back to winning ways and return into the top four after beating Bangwe All Stars 1-0 thanks to a Gedion Sululu’s 14th minute strike. The team is now fourth with 16 points while Bangwe remain on 14th position after collecting 9 points from 10 points.

In Mzuzu, Mighty Wakawaka Tigers got their second win of the season after beating Moyale Barracks 1-0 at the Mzuzu Stadium. Man of the match, Precious Chiudza scored the only goal of the game on 9th minute to move up to 8th with 12 points while Moyale are down to 6th with 13 points.

Finally in Balaka, Ferguson Mtondo rescued a point for Red Lions as the team came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Civo United. Substitute Lovemore Mbeta got an opener on 66th minute but was eclipsed with ten minutes to go. Civo are 11th with 11 points while Red Lions are the landlords of plot number 15 with 9 points.

Games continue tomorrow as Silver Strikers could open a three point gap on top of the summit if they beat Karonga United at the Bingu National Stadium, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers face Dedza Dynamos in Mark Harrison’s second target given match and Ekwendeni Hammers are visitors to Extreme FC at the Civo Stadium.
