Kawale Police Station has asked motorcycle operators to ensure safety and security measures when plying their business.
The call was made on Thursday, March 17, 2022 following resurfacing of robbery cases and road accidents involving kabaza taxi operators.
Superintendent Edina Zintambila Nthete sent a strong message to operators that security should begin with them.
She also advised them to take a responsibility in safeguarding their own life as police on another hand do their role.
Inspector Joseph Namuse from Criminal Investigations Branch highlighted on observing time and further asked operators to refrain from being used by criminals.

He further urged the operators to register their motorcycles, keep chansis number citing that this helps the police to trace the owner if stolen or lost.
“Collaborative efforts is what we need if we are to win over criminal cases that target kabaza operators, be responsible when plying your business.” Said Namuse
Kawale Police Station Traffic Officer, Assistant Supritendant Susan Kamgwao bemoaned the tendancy by some kabaza operators of not wearing helmets, carrying more than one pillion passenger at a time and careless cycling as major contributing factors of road accidents.
“Motorcycle is engine propelled and if involved in an accident it’s impact is greater than a bicycle, be watchful when using the road.” Said Kamgwao.
She therefore advised them to follow all traffic rules and regulations.
Taking advantage of the meeting Inspector Mayeso Chikadza urged operators to refrain from defiling young girls or raping female customers and committing suicide.
