83.24% pass rate on Primary School results

Hon. NyaLonje: Number of candidates selected to various categories of secondary schools to start form one.

Out of the 260,295 candidates who sat for this examination, 216,664 have passed. This represents 83.24% pass rate. Let me mention that this year’s overall pass rate has slightly dropped from the 83.83% in the previous year. However, the quality of the passes is higher than it was in 2021.

The highest mark obtained in this Examination is 448 out of 500, which is higher than 434 marks of the previous year and the cut-off point mark is 398 compared to 388 in 2021.

Top Special Needs Education (SNE) performing students

Hon. NyaLonje: “The highest mark among the special needs education boys was 422 out of 500 and was obtained by Frank Manda of Chatoloma Primary School in Kasungu.

For the girls, highest mark was 407 obtained by Victory Kavumba of Wisdom Centre, a Private School in Lilongwe City. Both candidates are low vision. I am equally proud of Manda and Victory Kavumba.”

Hon. NyaLonje: “Last year, some districts such as Mwanza and Neno did not send any candidate to national secondary school. I am happy to announce that this year, Neno has sent one (1) boy and four (4) girls while Mwanza has sent four (4) boys and seven (7) girls to national secondary schools.”

While the bottom ten (10) performing districts, in ascending order are:
