The Mzuzu District Youth Football Committee on Monday, 24 August 2026, distributed footballs to teams that will take part in the Under-14 NTHANDA League and the M’mera Under-16 League at Mzuzu CCAP Ground.
General Secretary for the committee, Kenphillips Kanyinji, presided over the distribution where each team in both categories received two balls.
Kanyinji said the donation is intended to improve training and match preparation ahead of the new season.
He urged the teams to use the balls for the intended purpose of developing young footballers and commended coaches for their continued efforts to support youth football in the district.

Kanyinji further emphasized the need for discipline among players, officials and supporters during league games.
He also reminded the teams that registration has already been concluded and that only players with valid player cards will be allowed to participate in the leagues.
On his part, Golden stars coach, Chikondi Kansale, welcomed the donation and pledged that the balls will be used to develop talent among young players.
The Under-14 NTHANDA League and the Under-16 M’mera League are expected to kick off this coming weekend at designated grounds across Mzuzu District.
