Two students scores high on primary school exams

Government says no one has been offered a special scholarship to Kamuzu Academy following results for Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations.

This comes as social media is awash with reports that Mirriam Kachala from Zomba who is one of the top performers for this year’s PSLCE has been selected to Kamuzu Academy for scooping 448/500 marks.

According to statement posted on the official page for Ministry of Education it says neither Kachala nor Joseph Magombo from Nankhaka Primary School in Lilongwe who has also scored 448/500 marks has been offered a scholarship.

The statement has however clarified that the two will automatically benefit from Press Trust scholarships which is given to top performers from each districts.

The two have been selected to Blantyre Secondary School, according to the ministry.
