“MYSTERIOUS INVESTOR HALTED: ZOMBA CITY COUNCIL SHIELDS MPONDA PRIMARY SCHOOL’S ENCROACHED LAND”

Reported by Innocent Mvundula-Lilongwe

In a dramatic turn of events, Zomba City Council (ZCC) has issued a stop order to an unknown investor who has allegedly been encroaching on land belonging to Mponda Primary School. ZCC CEO Arkangel Bakolo made this revelation amidst rising concerns from the school community.

Gelson Chibwana, Chairperson for the school’s management committee, expressed shock at the investor’s surreptitious activities, which included offloading sand and clearing land around the school premises, often under the cover of darkness.

The enigmatic nature of the investor’s operations, which have largely taken place at night, has made it difficult to identify the individual or group responsible. In response to these troubling events, the school’s management committee has taken decisive action, unanimously agreeing to file for an injunction to prevent any further construction work at the site.

The Zomba City Council’s proactive intervention and the school’s legal response have demonstrated a firm commitment to protecting Mponda Primary School’s property rights, while also shedding light on the challenges posed by undisclosed investors and encroachment of public spaces.
