The drama keeps unfolding in the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as the party’s members of Parliament who met Party president Peter Mutharika’s residence on Sunday afternoon have reportedly elected Francis Kasaila as the new Leader of Opposition.DPP Chief whip Symon Vuwa Kaunda says the party is expected to communicate to the Speaker of Parliament so that her office can start recognising Kasaila as such. But it is yet to be seen how Parliament will handle the issue, since the party’s vice president for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa who holds the Leader of Opposition office, yesterday obtained an injunction against attempts to remove him from the positions.
