Avant desk records a drop in figures of the new Covid19 cases and the number of tests conducted.
In the same update from Ministry of Health dated 29th August 2020 we have had a total number of those recovered at 3,143 representing 57% to the total number. In correlation to this, today 30th September, 2020 MoH releases the following figures:
New cases:8
Total confirmed cases: 5,536
Total deaths: 174 (No new death)
Total recoveries:3,147(4 new cases)
Active cases: 2,215
Total tests: 44,511 (215 new tests)
If the trend continues avantmalawi.com confidently will recommend schools are secure to reopen on 7th of September 2020.
However, our Reporters has it that almost 600 malawian citizens have returned last night. Many of these have their health status not known. Avant has doubts as to how secure these brothers and sisters will be assisted.
Previously, www.avantmalawi.com witnessed a number of these returnees leaving for home from Domasi Zomba where they are staged from South Africa without proper scrutiny of their health portfolios, exposing Zomba, Machinga, Mangochi, Phalombe Chiradzulu and Balaka at risk of Contracting Corona virus.
