Lusako Furniture is training the youths in carpentry as one way of building self reliant future generation.

The founder, Mr Gaston Chizumira thought it wise to give free carpentry trainings to youths living in Msesa village in the area of Traditional Authority Kapeni, in Blantyre district.

Amongst the apprentices are Martin Chizumira, 19, Francis Chizumira, 16 and Innocent Haji 16, just to mention some.
Martin Chizumira is a form 2 student at Limbe Private Secondary School while Francis Chizumira and Innocent Haji are Standard 8 learners at Kapeni Demonstration Primary School.
The trio have proven to be quick learners and so far have master skills such as grooving beside bed, chairs and table making just to mention a few.

As schools were closed in fear of contracting Covid-19 through mass gathering, the boys have decided to utilize this period by joining carpentry profession.
Furthermore, these apprentices urge fellow youths in communities to learn technical works instead of staying idle.

Covid-19 school closure must not be a guaranteed of youths to engage themselves in malpractices, such as drinking, smoking and early marriages.
Youth are future leaders and if empowered the country strides forward
