FIRST CAPITAL BANK SIGNS £25 MILLION FACILITY WITH EIB

Today on September 9, 2022, Malawi’s First Capital Bank (FCB) has strengthened its working relationship by signing a facility worthy £25 million with the European Investment Bank (EIB) aiming at enabling Agricultural smallholders and private companies access financial opportunities.

Avantmalawi has learnt that the signed facility includes a £12.5 million loan and the other half as a contribution from FCB.

Thomas Ostros the Vice president for EIB says the bank is always committed to boost Agriculture sector in Malawi.

However, in his words Chief executive officer for FCB Spiro Georgoupolos said the partnership is worth of job opportunities, Agricultural investment portfolio and it will clear obstacles hindering economic growth in Malawi.

FCB is among one of the moderate banks in investing into the welfare of smallholder farmers.
