Over 350 people sealed their acceptance of the Adventist message with a spectacular baptism in Mangochi district on 23rd October, 2021 following a three-week evangelistic crusade conducted at Mangochi Stadium.The message was broadcasted live from the epicenter of Mangochi town through one of the community radios in Mangochi,Umoyo community radio station.
This success was a result of a good partnership between the Crusade Steering Committee and Mangochi Central Church leadership, The theme of the Crusade was “Mangochi Dzuka Chimaliziro chafika,” a chichewa phrase that means “Mangochi arise! the end has come.’’
In his comment, pastor Tony Yolamu Nyirenda, President of South Malawi Conference and main speaker for the crusade, asserted that biblical rise is a fruit of the spirit that does work with no circumstances in our life as the end has come. He added that the newly baptized understood clearly that only Jesus can protect them against the hardships of this world and to him the salvation belongs, and commended lay people and church leaders for their involvement in the church activities as part of nurturing them.
The Crusade publicity secretary James Njinga concurred with the guest speaker that really the spirit of God do wonders In our life,and has done wonders to this crusade.Njinga also gave out a round of applause and bestowed honor on everyone who exemplified the singular focus, dedication, generosity,team spirit, financial and in kind assistance to make the crusade such a success.
The participation of individuals with various talents made the crusade holistic; each sermon was preceded by compelling health presentation with practical solutions for social and health issues.
A Muslim woman who had been wrestling with Adventist beliefs over the existence and intervention of God in her life requested to be baptized as well. She testified to God’s existence after unutterable miracles that took place in her life since she started listening live sermons on radio by TY Nyirenda.
The main event on the closing date was Voice of prophecy graduation and was mesmerized by music from Lilongwe outfit group,card massages.
In Seventh day Adventist Church Pastor T.Y Nyirenda has been instrumental in bringing thousands of new members every year to the church. Most of these Crusades are organised under the umbrella of committed individuals despite being organized by church at large.
