MINISTERS FACES CORRUPTION CHARGES ON NOCMA SAGA, AS HELLEN BULUMA DENIES TO SUFFER COMPLICATIONS ALONE

Avantmalawi Deputy Chief Executive Officer for National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA), Hellen Buluma, has officially lodged a complaint to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) over alleged attempts to interfere in awarding of oil supply contracts by a Cabinet minister, a senior advisor to President Lazarus Chakwera and leader of one of the members of Tonse Alliance partners.

ACB Director Reyneck Matemba has confirmed in an interview with our reporters that he has received the letter.

“We received the letter on Friday (yesterday) and we will follow up the matter,” Matemba said.

The officials named are Minister of Energy Newton Kambala, presidential advisor Chris Chaima Banda and Aford president Enoch Chihana.

This comes barely days after avantmalawi wrote an article with more discoveries on the Saga surrounding demotion of Hellen Buluma.

If these developments are proven true, we believe the three must step down to pave way for investigations. Let the law take its real definition to streamline every development that may arise.

As the Minister of information said as quoted “we are a nation that follows the laws” End of quote. Now, where is the law?
