The Mzuzu High court judge Thomson Ligowe yesterday Monday sentenced a 41-year old Thom Chamvula to 58 years in prison with hard labour for defiling his biological daughter, a step daughter and a niece in a row.
The man is reportedly to have been defiling the three minors since 2016 and 2019, respectively.
Delivering his judgement, Justice Ligowe said Chamvula being an old man was supposed to protect the minors not him being a burden to them.
The case was heard at Magistrate court but sentence has been passed by the High court, because Magistrates do not pass a jail term of more than 21 years.
