ELECTION UPDATES. JOE BIDDEN LEADS

๐Ÿ“Œ Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden has gained razor thing leads over President Donald Trump in Georgia and Pennsylvania, as vote counting continues Friday.

๐Ÿ“Œ The Trump campaign continues to dispute the results, however, saying in a statement Friday the โ€œthis election is not over,โ€ and claiming the president will ultimately win after expected recounts in close state races. The Trump campaign has also filed legal challenges over unsubstantiated allegations of vote fraud and irregularities.

๐Ÿ“Œ Biden currently leads in the popular vote as well as the Electoral College count, 253-214, with a majority of 270 needed to claim the presidency for a four-year term.

COUNTING UNDERWAYโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ ARIZONA (Electoral Votes-11): Biden remains ahead with about 285,000 outstanding ballots left to count as of late Thursday. Secretary of State Katie Hobbs said of the vote counting that officials will have a โ€œmuch more clear picture of where things stand” in the presidential contest by Friday evening.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ GEORGIA (Electoral Votes-16): Biden moved ahead of Trump in Georgia early Friday morning on the strength of mail-in ballots that were cast in reliably Democratic areas such as the cities of Atlanta and Philadelphia. The race is very close and will likely trigger an automatic recount of the vote under state rules.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ NEVADA (Electoral Votes-6): Vote count expected to continue for several more days. Democrat Joe Biden leads by more than 11,000 votes over President Donald Trump, with more than 1.2 million ballots counted. Election officials will count mail-in ballots received through Nov. 10, as long as they were postmarked by Nov. 3.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ NORTH CAROLINA (Electoral Votes-15): Race still too close to call. Trump held an early lead, but state officials said they had tens of thousands of votes yet to count. Also, as long as ballots were postmarked by Election Day, state election officials have until Nov.12 to count them.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ PENNSYLVANIA (Electoral Votes-20): In Pennsylvania, Biden overtook Trump by 5,587 votes Friday morning as officials continue counting a large number of absentee ballots.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ ALASKA (Electoral Votes-3): President Trump is in the lead in the state, but there are still 190,000 votes to count and will not announce the count of those until November 10.
