*PARAPHIMOSIS*: Is when foreskin becomes trapped behind the glans of a Penis.
CAUSES
-Masterbation
-Vigorous sexual intercourse
-Vigorous cleaning
-Infenction
-Catherization
-Trauma
*WHAT CAUSES PARAPHIMOSIS?*
-When the skin becomes trapped behind the corona for a prolonged time, it may form tight constricting band of tissues. This forms aring of tissue can impair the blood and lymphatic flow to and from the glans and prepuce as a result of penile ischemia and vascular enlargement of the glans and prepuce may become swollen edematous.
*SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS*
-Edema around the constricting band that is usually the prepuce
-Pain on erection
-Irritability in infant
-Inability to pull the foreskin back on the tip of the penis
-In advanced stage, the glans may develop blue or black colour
-Swollen and enlarged glans
*HOW TO TREAT PARAPHIMOSIS*
-The best way is circumscision
*HOW TO AVOID PARAPHIMOSIS*
-Refrain from masterbation
-Seek medical help when you have trauma
-Avoid vigorous sexual activity
