Police, Chiefs pledges hell for criminals at Kang’oma

Police in Kawale have promised a crime crackdown, strong partnerships and crime free environment, a move possible with local leaders active participation.

The Officer-In-Charge (OC) for the Station, Mr Davie Chiralire, Deputy Commissioner of Police on Sunday, November 16,2025 made the pledge with a call for chiefs to take a leading role in crime fight.

During the meeting, Mr Davie Chiralire (DCP) underscored the need for chiefs involvement in crime prevention strategies.

He pointed out various tips that once instituted can significantly create a no go zone for criminals who usually take advantage of unpatriotic behavior of some villagers. He urged chiefs to lead in preventing serious crimes like murder, mob justice and breaking offences. He also encouraged implementation of different initiatives including the ‘know your neighbor concept’, neighborhood watch teams and information sharing and reporting suspicious individuals.

The OC, Mr Davie Chiralire (DCP) further highlighted the importance of security tightening as a backbone in development.

“Development follows a place where there is low or no crime prevalence, so let’s make Kang’oma a crime free area by tightening security to attract such development,” said Chilalire.

The Officer-In-Charge, further called upon
political leaders in the area to consider having projects that will create jobs which will consequently improve economic muscle of then locals citing that this can propel reduction in theft and suicidal cases among the youths.

Mr Chiralire emphasized the need to detest from mob justice, but rather encouraged people in the area to embrace the rule of law by bringing to police any criminal suspect.

Furthermore Mr Davie Chiralire urged villagers to be environmental friendly by among others be in the forefront in improving ground cover through tree planting which he said helps to avate natural disasters that befall man kind during rainy season.

He however hailed Senior Chief Tsabango for the cordial relationship existing with police in the area

Senior Chief Tsabango welcomed the entourage from Kawale Police who expressed his gratitude for the meeting citing as timely and transformative. He echoed the OC’s sentiments and further ordered adherence by every chief.

Senior Chief Tsabango warned the chiefs against dubious sale of land, he stressed much on this behavior where chiefs are involved in the sell of already sold land to other unsuspected buyers which bring tension in the area.

The meeting held at Senior Chief Tsabango headquarters attracted over 500 Senior Chiefs, Group Village Heads and Village Heads under Tsabango who promised to carry out the tips and activate the same
