The 2005 law enforcement officers of the Malawi Police on April 4, 2025 held a 20th anniversary celebration at Bremat Multipurpose Hall in the capital city, Lilongwe.

During the gathering, the law enforcers also took time to remember their fallen counterparts by observing a one minute of silence. It is also from this gathering that the Chief Executive Officer for Bremat Foundation donated 12 units of notebooks and 30 school bags worth K1,546,000. to assist the needy sons and daughters of 2005 intake police officers who died whilst serving in the Malawi Police Service.

On receiving donation, the Organizing Chairperson Senior Superintendent Dan Sauteni expressed his profound gratitude to the donor, Mr Lloyd Chimuna Phiri for this special gesture and that the donation was timely.

Senior Superintendent Dan Sauteni also took time to remind the participants to always observe the rule of law when discharging their duties. “Ethics, integrity, and professionalism must be the order of the day,” said Sauteni.

“Let this day be a true reflection of God’s love upon us. Reaching this far is not by our choice. It is through His grace,” added Sauteni.

Taking his turn, the Organizing Vice Chairperson Assistant Superintendent Rashid Chimala advised the participants to be non partisan as failing to do so may end compromising their professionalism.

The Organizing Secretary, Sub Inspector Precious Mabvuto Phiri, emphasized the importance of engaging in charitable initiatives. He encouraged fellow officers to take a leading role in community support and humanitarian work. Phiri also advised that while support from well-wishers is welcome, it should serve as a supplement rather than the foundation of such efforts.

In his remarks, Bremat CEO Mr. Lloyd Chimuna Phiri, who graced the occasion, introduced himself as a committed partner to the group and pledged continued support for any future initiatives.

“I was deeply touched by this initiative when the Organizing Secretary shared the group’s plans for charity work. That is why I decided to partner with you and make this donation,” said Mr. Phiri. He further appealed to the business community to also play their part in supporting this noble cause.
