Kawale Police Station has been short in the arm as it has received a donation of two motor vehicles, office equipment and office furniture from Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority ( PPDA).
This follows a request made by Kawale Police Officer-In-Charge, Mr Davie Chilalire (ACP) after noting some imbalances of service vehicles in traffic and crime management.
The two vehicles will be pivotal in curbing criminality and road traffic violations as they are posed to be assigned to Traffic and Criminal Investigations Department (CID)
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Malawi Police Service on April, 3, 2025 at PPDA offices in Lilongwe Area 3, Kawale Officer In- Charge Mr Davie Chilalire, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) expressed his profound gratitude for the timely gesture and promised to use the donated items to it’s intended purposes.

He therefore, cited that the coming in of these vehicles will induce efficiency and just-in-time delivery of police services which will subsequently scale down crime and road accidents in the area.
Presenting the donation, Dr Edington Chilapondwa, the PPDA Director General said that the request caught their attention and thought to bail out police on mobility through the donation of two vehicles. He added that office equipment and furniture and will improve efficiency and ease the ever growing pressure of service delivery.
“Giving things to police or any government department is our duty and it is the best way to dispose of such items,” said Dr Edington Chilapondwa.
He further urged Kawale and Fiscal Police to do good to the donated items citing that it will bring pride to the PPDA seeing them being operated in good condition.
In total PPDA has supported law enforcement agency with three motor vehicles from which Lilongwe Fiscal Police has benefited a Toyota hilux motor vehicle and other office items. This generous contribution aims to improve response times and enhance patrol capabilities.
