MAM PRESIDENT MOURNS: KATELELE CHING’OMA’s DEMISE A MAJOR SETBACK FOR MUSIC INDUSTRY

Vita Chirwa, the president of the Musicians Association of Malawi (MAM), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Katelele Ching’oma, considering it a significant setback for the music industry.

In an interview with Avant Publications, Chirwa praised Ching’oma as a talented musician who championed cultural identity through his songs.

Chirwa emphasized that Ching’oma’s departure has created a substantial void in the music realm that will be challenging to fill.

Katelele Ching’oma passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe after being hospitalized for liver problems.

The final resting place for Ching’oma will be in Nsanje at Chididi on January 19, 2024.

At the age of 36, Kamlete left behind a wife and three children.
