In Northern Malawi’s Karonga district, the Simso innobuild Northern Region Football League was captivating fans. The first round ended with Baka City FC leading the table with 15 points from seven games, their journey remarkable.
The sunsets in Karonga painted the sky as Baka City FC practiced diligently. Their coach, Gift Chilongo, instilled teamwork, discipline, and perseverance in them. This showed in every pass, goal, and victory.
Joseph Mwambungu, their young striker, was the star with 19 goals in the first round, earning him the nickname “The Golden Boot.”
Defensively, Baka City FC was solid. Mzimba United FC ,Iponga FC and Bake City FC conceded just six goals each.
However, Kadona Stars FC, a point behind, was a fierce rival, making each match a battle for supremacy. Mayamiko Stars FC struggled at the bottom of the table, conceding 15 goals, and they were the only team that hadn’t won at home.
