The Leader of opposition, Dr Kondwani Nankhumwa rushed supervising Bwaila Hospital popularly known as Bottom in Lilongwe to assess how the hospital is discharging its day to day services.
His visit comes after social media went viral on reports that the hospital has suspended some of its operations due to lack of resources causing most patients on labor to be referred to nearest hospitals.

During his visit, the DPP leader of opposition in Parliament managed talking to management of the hospital on burning issues affecting the hospital.
Kondwani Nankhumwa has asked authorities at Bwaila hospital in Lilongwe to expedite the process of fixing some machines used in the hospital’s labour ward which are not operational to ensure service provision is not disturbed.
Speaking when he visited the facility this afternoon after reports that management had closed the hospital’s labour ward due to malfunctioning sterilizer among other problems, Nakhumwa said he expects the authorities to do their best to ensure people are able to get the necessary support.
