“REVISIT AIP”-CHAKWERA TOLD

Dedza Central Constituency Member of Parliament Honourable Daniel Chiwere has joined those calling on the government to critically scrutinize 2021-2022 season’s Affordable Input Program in an attempt to make the program benefit more poor Malawians in the coming season.

Honourable Chiwere was speaking at a development rally at Mwenje Primary School ground in Dedza District which was presided over by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera.

Chiwere pointed out that a significant number of families did not have access to buy Urea fertilizers in the area a situation that is feared to give the rise to food shortage in the area.

On the function, Minister of Agriculture Honourable Robin Lowe has in turn blamed vendors claiming that they have disturbed this year AIP program.

Lowe then hinted that to avoid the repeat, his ministry will use farmers clubs to address such challenges.

The president earlier visited Bwanje Dam and rice grading and packaging facility in Bwanje area of Traditional Authority Kachindamoto in the District.
