A 68-year old Catholic Bishop for Mangochi Diocese, Montfort Stima has escaped with minor injuries after the motor vehicle he was driving overturned once.
The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, December 30, 2020 at Mphwanya village along Arthur Peter Mutharika Highway.
Bishop Stima was driving a Toyota Hilux double cabin registration number MH268 from the direction of Liwonde heading Mangochi.
Upon arrival at the said place due to speeding he lost control of the motor vehicle and swerved to the near side of the road where it overturned once.
Following the impact Bishop Stima sustained minor injuries and has been treated as an out patient at Koche Health Centre. The motor vehicle got extensively damaged.
Meanwhile Police in the district are appealing to drivers to always follow road safety measures to avoid accidents.
