A Lilongwe based construction company namely INNOBUILD COMPANY has launched a MK3 Million football trophy.
The launch took place at Chibavi Ground in Mzuzu where 16 football teams were selected to participate in the trophy.
The ceremony was chaired by the company’s representative who is also Northern Region Football Association General Secretary Masiya Nyasulu.
In his words, Nyasulu said “the league has been set aiming at occupying the youths in the soccer industry and promote football in the region.”
This is the company’s first time to launch and run such a trophy in Mzuzu district.
To kickstart the trophy, Katoto United played against Green Rangers. The match ended in Green Rangers 2:0 Katoto United.
All the selected 16 teams are from Mzuzu. Since the trophy is focusing on Mzuzu district only.
