FLAMES WIN AWAY GAME; BREAKS RECORD SET 13 YEARS AGO

The Malawi national football team is now one win away from qualifying for the Afcon 2022 finals following a narrow 1 nil win over South Sudan today.

A deflected corner kick by Gerard Phiri Jnr, has now given the Flames work to do at home as the side hosts Uganda on Monday in Blantyre.

The Ugandans were forced to a barren draw against Burkina Faso, who have since qualified with nine points from Group B.

Now, the Flames has 7 points, one shy of Uganda while South Sudan are stuck to the bottom with just three points.
