Crystal Palace humiliated

Roy Hodgson has revealed he and his Crystal Palace side are humilated by their 7-0 loss at home to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

The Premier League champions ran riot at Selhurst Park from the very first minute when Takumi Minamino, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino put Jurgen Klopp’s side 3-0 up at half-time.

The scoring did not stop for Liverpool after the break with Jordan Henderson, Firmino and a brace from substitute Mohamed Salah completing the rout.

Palace manager Hodgson claimed this is a new experience for most of his squad and has vowed to bounce back from the significant disappointment.

Hodgson revealed in his press conference: ‘There’s nothing positive I can say. We’re humiliated by the result, there’s no question of that. We take it very very badly.

‘For most of us in the dressing room we have never been on the end of a seven-nil defeat before so that’s a new experience and quite frankly I’m sitting here in front of you and I can’t say anything positive to say.

‘We just have to come over it because that’s what everyone has to do. There’s no point in dwelling on it any longer than we really have to. We have to learn our lessons from it and I’m sure we will.’
