Reports reaching Avant publication indicates that a gule wankulu dancer has been injured .
What transpired was that,there was a funeral yesterday in Kasumbu Village ,TA Kasumbu in DEDZA.The deceased when alive indicated that he wanted gule to grace his funeral ceremony once he dies.When he died,the family did invite gule wankulu to dance as per the deceased wish.When one dancer took on the stage,the village head didn’t want it to dance and preferred another dancer.This angered the dancer and armed with a double edged panga knife attacked the village head.In an acrobatic scenario, perhaps remembering his old days,he grabbed the panga and attacked the gule on the knee.
This sent the crowd into laughter and the dancer walked away in shame blood oozing from his left leg. www.avantmalawi.com
