OC Mwamkili calls for professionalism, embrace customer centered approach

The Officer In-Charge for Kawale Police Station Mr Devlin Mwamkili Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP has on January 26, 2026 charged officers under his command to uphold professionalism and incorporate customer centered approach when handling police duty.

Mr Devlin Mwamkili (DCP), made the call during the meeting tha took place at Kawale Police with the drive to meet the expectations of people under Kawale Policing area.

The Officer In-Charge (OC), Mr Devlin Mwamkili (DCP) reminded officers the standards to be observed by every law enforcer under his command.

Some of the standards includes, customer centered approach, dedication to duty calls, and case management.

He urged officers to treat communities we serve as our bosses

“Let’s conduct our duty in a professional manner and be customer centered in our approach” Said Mwamkili.

Additionally the Officer In-Charge OC Mr Devlin Mwamkili DCP conveyed the message from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Richard Chakupaleza Chikoko Luhanga on Welfare of Police officers, taking police to communities, required uniform standard, the promised opportunities to women Police officers based on performance, in-service international and local trainings to all.

Speaking earlier on, the Station Officer for Kawale Police (SO), Supritendent Gladys Chiwaula warned officers against corrupt practices which not only puts ones job at risk but also dents the image of Malawi Police Service (MPS) as an organization.

Supritendent Gladys Chiwaula highlighted further on customer services which she said it’s the obligation of all officers on duty to treat service seekers equally.

She therefore called for improved service delivery to all irrespective of status quo.

In attendance were OC Area 24, Senior Supritendant Edina Nthete, OC Area 23, Senior Supritendent Wezi Ngozo and 60 Junior Officers under Kawale.
