On 8 July 2023, Her Excellency Mary Chilima spouse to Malawi’s State Vice President, Right Honourable Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima encouraged women to be economically and socially productive despite having families to take care of.
Her remarks were made at Kaliyeka ground, Area 22 in Lilongwe City where At-Tariqatul Qadiria Sunn Association (AQSA) Women Dawa group organised prayers.
The function was organised aiming at teaching women about Islam. Amongst the notable participants was former first lady Patricia Shanil Muluzi.
AQSA Dawa group president, Sakina Pongolani Nanyumba said three days have passed since Dawa group was made a platform where issues that could help women are highlighted. She further appreciated encouraging remarks from Mrs Chilima.
