Mangochi Police women welfare group which is comprised of Police women and Officers spouses were over the moon when the wife of Eastern Region Police Commissioner Sinya Mkandawire visited them.
The function took place in the afternoon of May 22, 2021 at Town hall whereby 95 Women from all posts and units attended.
The main purpose of the visit was to acknowledge the efforts and encourage the welfare group in as far as collaboration between Police men’s spouses and Police women is concerned.
The group which was beautifully dressed in Police Eagle attire was led by the wife of Mangochi Police officer In-charge Alexina Chisoti.
Before proceeding to the Town hall, Mkandawire stopped at the Station where she met Senior Police women and spouses of Senior Police officers. She also went through the records of welfare activity books including monthly contributions which is a must and helpful at every Police Station.
Speaking to the gathering Alexina Chisoti hailed the guest of honor for her visit despite her busy schedule. Chisoti applauded the coordination between the spouses and female officers whereby they help one another in terms of welfare activities.
In her address, Mkandawire, reminded the group about discipline, respecting and supporting husbands, religious participation, home management, avoid competition in the camp and welfare activities among others.
“I urge you my fellow women to support our men in uniform since they are pillars of our strength, let’s avoid to add stress to their lives because the nature of their job is already stressful, I’m impressed with the records and continue supporting one another in times of peace or turmoil added Mkandawire.
Mkandawire also encouraged the welfare group to avoid regrouping and gossiping instead they should engage in businesses to support their husbands.
Mkandawire also warned the group not to copy life styles of others since the responsibilities are not the same.
To spice up the occasion, the welfare group organized activities like drama, comedy, choir and chioda which spread good messages and made the interaction more colorful.
