The Minister of Agriculture, Hon Lobin Lowe, who is in Chikwawa on AIP supervision mission, has closed Saeed Shops at Misewu 4, Gabu and other places in Chikwawa district after noting that some bags of fertilizer are underweight and that about 40 bags stocked are from over 5 other companies, a situation which is very awkward and in violation of AIP set regulations.
Hon Lowe warned other suppliers who may be involved in similar dirty activities that they risk similar punishment. This is what the Minister said and I quote, “I am coming to your shops and if I find you not complying with what is in your contract, your shops will be closed. No one should steal from our farmers in this government.”
