The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has officially declared
Reuben Kanyama (Independent),
Idi Kalosi (United Democratic Front), and
Mabvuto Bokosi (Independent), winners in the Parliamentary by-elections for Mangochi West, Mangochi North-East, and Phalombe North respectively.
Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) has officially declared Ruben Kanyama, Idi Kalosi and Mabvuto Bokosi winners in the just ended by election.
In Mangochi West, Kanyamawho stood as independent, has made it with 5,648 votes while Simeon Harrison also independent got 5,636 votes.
Geoffrey Chiwondo of DPP got 1952 votes, Stanley Phiri of UTM got 166 votes while Richard Banda,Independent, got 53 votes.
In Mangochi North East, Idi Kalosi of United Democratic Front (UDF) has retained the seat with 9,890 votes while Martin Nyengo got 9,093 and Duncan Cassim got 185 votes.
In Phalombe North, independent Mabvuto Bokosi has made it with 8,256 votes while Justin Mokowa of UTM got 3804 votes.
Promise Salima, also independent, got 3049 votes while another independent Godwin Lipita got 934 votes.
Esther Kazembe of MCP got 52 votes.
