Chakwera pays respect to late John Tembo

Soon after his arrival, State President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and the first lady went to give their last respect to one of the country’s fallen hero, Late Dr John Tembo at MCP headquarters, in Lilongwe.

Leading scores of Malawians, the President and the Vice President Right Hon Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima, Former President Dr Joyce Banda and other dignitaries extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

In his words, Morgan Tembo appreciated government for taking over the funeral ceremony. “We are thankful as a family mainly to the government, as we all know Late Tembo saved this country in various positions until his departure. ” he said.

Dr. Albert Mbawala, who serves as the Chairperson of the funeral committee, stated, that “on Wednesday we will take the body of JZU from Nthulu village to Dedza stadium where we will give chance to people to pay their last respect and then afterwards there will be a private burial ceremony because of the numbers.”

Dr Mbawala added that “we can’t have all the numbers come there, we will have at least all the VVIP’s , National Executive Committees members of the party and those people who matter the relations the family people for a private committal service at Nthulu village in Dedza”.

Late Tembo will be buried in Dedza on 4th October, 2023. After the public viewing at MCP headquarters, tommorrow and Eurologies will be done at Malawi Square’s BICC in Lilongwe.
