Kawale Police hailed the communities in the fight against crime as witnessed through swift reporting of explosives devices found within Area 23.
In a space of seven days the Station has retrieved 19 unexploded and exploded mortars, one at a grave yard while some were being offered for sale to a scrap metal dealer.
It is from this background that Kawale Police Station through Community Policing Branch organized a football bonanza to woo people at Chiuzira Primary School ground and utilize the same in it’s awareness campaign.
Mr Davie Chilalire, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) advised the gathering the best practices once they encounter explosive devices.
“Don’t touch or take but report to nearest police any suspicious metallic items found in our sorroundings. They have possibility of bringing harm to lives once exploded” Chilalire stressed.

He therefore disclosed that every positive report of such items will attract a monetary reward to the informer.
Earlier on Area 23 Community Policing Coordinator, Assistant Supritendent Funny Majoni had to open the meeting by setting the foundation of the Bonanza.
She showed the pictorial view of explosives to the gathering and advised them to stay away once they come across such and report immediately to police
Senior Group Chiuzira expressed his gratitude for the timely life saving messages and further asked the Officer In-Charge to extend to Kang’oma and Mchitanjiru

In area 23 alone, police have retrieved 19 explosives within a space of one week and further promises to stump out those involved in caress dropping of such items.
