Kawale Police Station through its lower formation of Area 24 Police Unit and Kamuzu University of Health Science (KUHES) officials on September 20, 2024 challenged Gaga communities in Area 24 location on sanitation and security.
Addressing the gathering, the Officer In-Charge for Area 24 Senior Superintendent Edina Zintambira Nthete urged chiefs to have Community Policing Forums (CPF) in their areas as one way of tightening security.
She then promised to groom those who will be selected into neighborhood watch teams how best they can provide security in the area.
Nthete further asked residents to inform police about any suspected criminals and refrain from harbouring criminals and know their neighbors.
She winded her speech by warning Gaga residents against acts of mob justice.
On health part ,Dr Mwizalero Gondwe chairlady for KUHES leaners informed the communities against open defecation but rather have toilets and bins for them to get rid of cholera pandemic.

Gondwe further advised residents to desist from discrimination of people living with HIV.
She unpacked several preventive measures, like home hygienic tips, personal hygiene which have been received well.
Speaking on behalf of the gathering, Group Village Gaga, Magalas Lukwa by birth promised official from both departments of their total compliance by among others have neighborhood watches and pit latrines.
He said every village will have to select young men of good behavior to form CPF teams and again to improve hygiene by having toilets at house hold level.
He said that this will surely help in the fight against crime and diseases.
