Police in Ntchisi have arrested a 41-year-old man, Edward Chatambalala, for allegedly hacking to death his young brother with a knife and wounding his parents.
The incident happened in the wee hours of May 31 2022 at Chimtsekwa Village in the district.
It is alleged that Edward, while in full intoxication of alcohol stabbed his young brother, Jerico Chatambalala aged 24, without apparent reasons.
After killing his own young brother, Edward stabbed his 91-year-old father on the chest before stabbing his mother at the back and on the arms.
Sensing danger, community policing members arrested the suspect, and alerted the police.
Edward Chatambalala will appear before court soon to answer charges of murder and unlawful wounding.
He hails from Chimtsekwa Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in Ntchisi District.
