Man 39, arrested for receiving stolen property, absconding court bail in Kawale

Police in Kawale have taken into its custody a 39-year-old man, Flosiyano Kayange nick named Mkasa for being a potential buyer of stolen properties within Area 23 location.

The suspect has been charged with the case of receiving stolen property which is contrary to section 411 of Penal Code.

The able detectives were tipped about the suspect’s routine involvement in acquiring stolen items from different criminals; this prompted them to investigate and storm his house where they recovered some of the stolen items after arresting Mkasa.

Further discoveries indicate that the suspect was on the wanted list after breaching court bail. He was answering similar charges but willfully decided to abscond bail conditions.

Meanwhile Mkasa is still in police custody pending court appearance after completion of paperwork.

Police in the area would wish to remind the public that buying stolen items remains a serious offence under the laws of the country and any one found will face the long arm of the law.

Flosiyano Kayange Mkasa hails from Nkathama Village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Msakambewa in Dowa district.
