Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo , Minister of National Unity is representing Malawi at this year’s Paris Peace Forum which started on 11th November and ends on 12th November 2022 in Paris, France.
The Paris Peace Forum, had invited President Chakwerai to the event but due to other commitments he delegated Mtambo to attend the conference.
The Paris Peace Forum was founded in 2018 with the idea that international cooperation is key to overcoming global challenges and ensuring lasting peace. Every year the Forum brings together all actors in the global governance -Heads of state and Government, international organizations, local governments, religious groups and religious leaders to engage in constructive dialogue under one roof.
In this year’s event which was graced by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron and other heads of states engaged in a discussion on how various factors are affecting peace around the world.
The conference is set up to encourage networking in the field of peace building and Malawi is poised to benefit from a number of projects that are being championed by the Forum like the development of Early Warning and Early Response system.
