Ombudsman Martha Chizuma has thrown out allegations of irregular appointment of Fegus Lipenga as Macra Director of Broadcasting.
Ombudsman also notes that the secondment of Benson Tembo from MBC to Macra as Advisor in Digital Migration in 2014 was irregular and illegal as the motive behind it was to clear the way for Aubrey Sumbuleta former Director General of MBC.
The acting Director General of MACRA, Henry Shamu, has also been found on the wrong side of the law. The Ombudsman says his employment is irregular and the law was clearly flouted.
Macra Board Chairperson says the Ombudsman report is eye opening and it has empowered the Board to do due diligence at the institution as guided by the law.
