Lester Maganga faces two charges related to the court’s investigation into the death of Allan Witika.
According to legal proceedings, Maganga has been informed that the court is considering two counts against him in connection with the alleged murder of Allan Witika, as well as possessing a firearm without a valid license.
However, government representative Pilirani Masanjala informs the court that the prosecution has solid evidence, with a total of fifteen witnesses, ensuring a comprehensive case presentation within the next fourteen days.
Having spent the last three months in remand at Lilongwe’s Maula Prison, Maganga awaits further legal proceedings.
Witika was discovered deceased in his car in Lilongwe’s Area 15 in September of the preceding year.
Maganga entered a plea of not guilty to the two charges presented in court today.
However, Lester Maganga will remain in Maula Prison until further notice.
The presiding judge, Mzondi Mvula, has announced that Maganga’s case will undergo a comprehensive review starting from the 13th of February 2024, spanning 14 days. Maganga will taken to a hospital for a thorough examination to ensure his overall well-being and address any potential health concerns.
